Katja’s friends’ double birthday party was finally today. Katja was so excited to give her friends their gym bags and skirts. By the time I picked her up, all three girls had their skirts on!

On the way back, I stopped in a field I have been admiring for a few weeks. the light wasn’t perfect, but I got at least one nice picture of the wonderful blue/purple and yellow color scheme.

I like these wierd little pink flowers too:

Love the skirts on the girls- had not realised you were making them as presents as well!
I love cornflowers- the blue is just magic!

The skirts are lovely on the girls! I can see why they had to put them on right away. Also love the flowers — the blue purple and yellow combo is great and those pinkish ones — I wonder what they are!

So much to love – the girls twirling in their skirts, those wonderful flowers. I like how you framed the hand stitched piece. Looks perfecto. I am so far behind visiting my blogs what with 2 day workshop and Lili visiting.

The skirts are really cool.
Glad to know someone else is not a botanist or gardener. The cornflowers have now been identified, but I have no clue as to the pink. Same with the bushes growing on our patio.

ah – cuteness

The whitish-pink flowers are called “Leimkraut” – very fitting since you are in Leimen, huh? lol I knew the german name but had to look up the english one
The botanical name is Siléne vulgaris and in english they are either called catchfly or campion, in this case bladder campion.
very pretty!!!

I always loved Raps, and isn’t there another “field” quilt? So now I can’t wait to see the quilt that evolves out of the blue/yellow flowers. You go girl! Love, Opa

Great skirts. Children have such style before they get sucked into the fashion army of ready mades.
